Buleleng, BTNp:THE government of Buleleng District established a monument named Yuda Mandala Tama Monument. The monument, founded on the shoreline of the ex-Buleleng Harbor, is intended to perpetuate and honor the services of the freedom fighters, in this case the youth fighters of North Bali. They bravely lowered the enemy’s flag and raised the red-and-white one even though with drops of blood and their souls were at stake.

The monument established depicts a young man who stands firmly on a concrete support with a height that sticks out above sea level. The young man is not wearing a shirt, his left hand tightly holding the flying red-and-white flag and his right hand pointing towards the sea.

The hero’s monument (Yuda Mandala Tama Monument) is now getting more and more crowded with tourists. Seeing the monument, tourists often spontaneously ask questions to the people around the monument. “What and who is depicted by the existence of the monument that seems heroic?”

It would be very nice if only there were tour guides who are always in charge in the area and have the ability to provide explanations about the existence of this heroic monument, full of historical value and full of meaning. Considering the Yuda Mandala Tama monument retains full of history, the Buleleng District Government has designated the monument as a Historical Tourist Destination in North Bali.

It is not surprising that the Yuda Mandala Tama Monument is getting more and more crowded by visitors because in addition to its historical value, the location is very strategic, namely on the shoreline of Ex-Buleleng Harbor which also has a historical area. Besides, in the same area is built the Mr. I Gusti Ketut Puja Building, Lesser Sunda Museum and Floating Restaurant.

Let’s go to the ex-Buleleng Harbor! Here we can also see the sanctum building where the Chinese people pray, and the Lesser Sunda Nostalgic Ancient Bridge that floats over the river dividing Singaraja Town. *DisPar/Agung Suamba
