Denpasar, BTNp: IN CELEBRATION of the 73rd Republic Day of India, a flag hoisting ceremony was held in the premises of the Consulate General of India, Bali. The event commenced with the unfurling of the National flag by Consul General Shri Prakash Chand, followed by the singing of the National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’.

Thereafter, the Consul General read out the address of Hon’ble President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind to the nation on the eve of the Republic Day. And a video showing India’s journey from Independence Day to present day ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ which is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.

Consul General of India Shri Prakash Chand also hosted an evening reception on the 73rd Republic Day of India at Nusa Dua. By observing strict health protocols, Consul General addressed the gathering of over 150 guests comprising prominent members of the civil society, bank personalities, airport authorities, business and hospitality community, academicians, prominent cultural personalities, museum personalities, and members of the Indian community in Bali.

The event started with the playing of the National Anthems of India and Indonesia. Cultural performances, including Yoga presented by Yoga practitioners from Yogmantra Bali and Indian dances which represented a series of Indian Festivals celebrated throughout the year.

Dr. Pompi Paul, dance teacher and students of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Bali performed Indian classical dances followed by a dance from a group of women from the Indian community. The gathering was also enlivened by a performance of ‘India in Bali dance group’ who performed an Indian contemporary dance at the end of the event. *BTNewspaper/*
