HOLI 2023
DENPASAR, BTNp: CONSULATE General of India and Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Bali in association with the Balinese & Indian Friendship Association (BIFA) organised celebration of Holi – Festival of Colours on Sunday, 5 March 2023 at the Consulate’s premises in Denpasar, Bali.
Consul General of India in Bali, Mrs. Neeharika Singh, welcomed the gathering and urged them to enjoy the fun of Holi. She briefed on the origins of Holi celebration in Hindu mythology and remarked that Holi also brings along with it the spirit of joy, love, enthusiasm and peace. This is the day to rekindle friendships and build new ones.
The function was graced by more than 160 persons comprised of Balinese Government Officers, Media, think tanks, local Institutes/ organizations, expats, friends of India and members of Indian community participated in the event.
On this occasion for the first time, various Holi themed classical, Bollywood and folk culture performances were organized. SVCC dance teacher, students and India in Bali dance group presented mesmerizing performances. Very famous Flower Holi from Brij was replicated by the performers with flower petals.
Public enthusiastically participated in all the performances and danced on the beats of dhol and dandiya. Everyone enjoyed the celebration by throwing dry colors and flower petals on each other as sign of friendship and universal brotherhood. *BTNewspaper/*
