Penimbangan Beach Resembles a Flower Surrounded by Bumblebees

Buleleng, BTNp: PENIMBANGAN Beach is one of the tourist attractions located approximately 3 km to the west of Singaraja Town, Buleleng, Bali. The beach situated east of Lovina Beach is increasingly attractive to tourists.

Since 2015, it seems that the local community has become increasingly passionate and aware of preserving coastal nature, including maintaining its underwater biodiversity. Their nature conservation activity is facilitated by Indonesia Gas-Fueled Power Generation of Pemaron Unit related to the THK Awards that the State-Owned Enterprise wants to achieve in 2021.

The local community of Baktiseraga Village, that is always enthusiastic and active in conserving coastal nature in their area, has established a group called Penimbangan Lestari Monitoring Community Group. Dr. Iwan Setiabudi as founder of the community explained to have released thousands of turtle hatchlings into the sea since 2015.

Furthermore, Iwan added that in addition to protecting turtles through captivity and release of hatchlings into the sea, the assisted group also continuously develops coral reefs as shelters and food sources for all types of fish including turtles that are being protected. Conservation activities carried out by the Penimbangan Lestari Monitoring Community Group have now made Penimbangan Beach sustainable, beautiful and rich in marine life.

From the aspect of the world of tourism, of course, this situation is very beneficial because clean beaches and beautiful underwater scenery with diverse fish populations including tame turtles, are tremendous attractions for tourists, especially tourists who like diving.
