THE Indonesian government has prepared three COVID-19 green zones, so that Bali tourism can be opened to local and international tourists. The three green zones are Ubud (Gianyar District), Nusa Dua (Badung) and Sanur (Denpasar City).

For that purpose, the government has held mass vaccinations for tourism players in these 3 areas.

Apart from vaccination, the local government also emphasized that the movement of people and transportation in and out of the area is strictly monitored. Besides, it will be supported with the massive implementation of 3T in accordance with the WHO standards and the provision of infrastructure such as hospitals and good PCR labs.

“There must be a PCR Lab around the Ubud tourist area in order to be efficient. If possible, there are more than 500 specimens per day. And it should not take long and should take no later than 24 hours to complete. On that account, it needs excellent infrastructure to ensure that the entire area is safe and clean,” said Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, in the meeting of green zone preparation in Denpasar.

To realize this zone, the Minister of Health emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration, including involving the private sector. With the good collaboration between the government and the private sector, hopefully it will not only create healthy tourism in Bali but also the sophisticated one.

Meanwhile, to convince the world community that Bali is a safe and healthy tourist area, the Minister of Health emphasized the importance of collaboration with various international agencies. Of course, this effort must be supported by the implementation of strict health protocols.

“So, that this is not only a local tourist destination but also a world tourist destination. To that end, we must invite various international organizations to help and oversee this. We prove that we can, so that the world believes that Bali is ready to become a safe tourist destination. I am sure that we can,” explained the Minister of Health.

He also emphasized that to create a COVID-free Green Zone, the selected areas must be 100 percent safe and healthy. The Minister of Health encouraged the vaccination to be carried out as soon as possible so that economic recovery can also be accelerated. “I agree that all people are vaccinated in those areas,” said the Minister of Health.

The implementation of mass vaccination in Ubud on Tuesday (Mar 16) at Puri Saren Agung was observed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jokowi. The first day of vaccination was given to 680 tourism players, including dancers who were wearing their dance costumes.

In Badung, the vaccination targets 1,500 people. There are a total of 28 teams on duty to stay on location, and 12 mobile teams who are directly targeting vaccine recipients to the villages.

Meanwhile, the AstraZeneca vaccine is used for vaccination in Sanur, Denpasar, which is included in the three green zones of COVID-19 in Bali. “The AstraZeneca vaccines received amounts to 100,000 doses and will be divided into three green zones in Bali,” said Denpasar Mayor, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, on Wednesday (Mar 17). *BTNewspaper
